Admissions and Continued Occupancy Plan for Public Housing

If you are having trouble paying your rent, and would like to live in a community that offers more than just a roof and four walls, the Portland Housing Authority may be able to help.

If you meet our income limits and other qualifications, you can rent an apartment at a fraction of the cost of private housing. At PHA, residents never pay more than 30% of their income for rent, even if your income goes down.

At PHA, we provide on-site management and maintenance, adequate parking, and the heat is included in the rent.

In addition to providing affordable housing, we also offer a variety of services, including social workers, Portland Adult Education ESL classes, food pantries, and a convenience store to name a few. Affordable family housing also offers a variety of family and youth services, including child care, Girl Scouts, Boys and Girl Club, and nursing stations.
